Our Team

Hello! I’m Roseann

I’m the owner of Wasatch Neurotherapy and specialize in neurofeedback brain training. I know first-hand the effects that cognitive decline and mental health challenges can have on families. My family and I have experienced the benefits of Neurotherapy. I started this business because I love helping people and I want to make neurofeedback available to everyone.

Before opening Wasatch Neurotherapy, I worked in the mental health industry for many years. I have extensive experience with clients who are dealing with mental health challenges. I have dedicated my life to helping those who are struggling. I’m certified through Stress Therapy Solutions, Brain Master Technologies, and Braincore Neurofeedback Systems. Please call or text us to learn more about the services we provide.

My Story

With extensive experience aiding individuals coping with trauma, mental health struggles, and substance abuse, I’ve devoted myself to supporting mental well-being. As a single mother, I found myself facing similar challenges with my children. My youngest, at 4 years old, received diagnoses of 5 different disorders, a revelation that deeply affected me. He struggled with focus and attention, neurodevelopmental and sensory issues,  mental and emotional stress, learning challenges, defiant outbursts, negative moods, obsessive behavior, difficulty regulating emotions, and difficulty forming healthy attachments.

Like many parents, I went in search of ways to help my child beyond the use of medication. My quest for non-pharmaceutical interventions led me through various therapies until I discovered neurofeedback. My son started neurofeedback brain training and the impact was remarkable! After 14 sessions I saw substantial improvements, especially in his focus and well-being and he was no longer reliant on medication.

Drawing from years of experience in the mental health field, I opened Wasatch Neurotherapy to help others regain their health and well-being. I’ve collaborated with nonprofits like Heal the Hero, which assists first responders and veterans with processing trauma. I also consult with and provide services at multiple treatment facilities throughout northern Utah. I have extensive training and certifications on the equipment I own, which is the latest and most advanced equipment; that and my ongoing education reflect my dedication to delivering exceptional care. The joy of witnessing my clients’ progress and successes remains immensely gratifying, inspiring me to continually enhance my services to help those who are struggling.

Hello, I’m Cole!

I am the lead Neurofeedback consultant overseeing neurofeedback services at inpatient and outpatient facilities throughout Utah and out of state as well.

I graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology and an Associate Degree in Human Development. While I was a student, I researched how attachment style and childhood can impact physical aspects of our body and our understanding and awareness of our physical needs.

Even as a teenager, I loved psychology and the study of brain health and mental health due to dealing with my own acute ADHD. My passion was only pushed further when my father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018.

I began providing neurofeedback services with the hope of improving the mental health and brain function of members of my community. I have seen the benefits that comprehensive mental health therapies can create for those who are struggling, and it is my dream to continue to provide an avenue for those who are dealing with mental health challenges to achieve peace and relief.

I love helping people heal, one mind at a time

"I am a therapist, and I refer people to Roseann regularly to have them work with her. She is compassionate, caring, and is able to help people heal. One thing I love about neurofeedback is that it addresses the root causes of things at the brain level. I'd 1000 percent recommend this to anyone struggling with any kind of mental health or attention issue."

"I was struggling with depression for years. The idea of being on medication for the rest of my life just wasn’t something I was willing to do. Then I was introduced to neurofeedback and it changed my life. I have been symptom free for three years. Working with Roseann has been wonderful and I would recommend anyone to her. She has a passion for helping others and only wants the best for her community."

Nathan C.

"My son started struggling with OCD tendencies and severe anxiety this past spring. We started using essential oils and CBD oil to help with the symptoms while these worked a little bit. He was still suffering. I was looking for something besides putting him on meds. We started neurofeedback. We have been going for approximately 2 months now and my son has drastically improved. He is sleeping well his anxiety is like a 2 know versus when it was a 10 and is OCD tendencies have reduced significantly. Also we rarely use the CBD oil know where he was using it up to three times a day this summer. We have loved the results we are getting from neurofeedback and would recommend it to anybody. The best is my son loves going and he feels the difference."

Reimbursement to the client varies by insurance company and plan. Check with your insurance provider directly for details. Regardless of insurance reimbursement, payment is due at the time of service.

What do I ask my insurance provider?

Questions to ask your insurance provider

1. Is biofeedback a covered benefit under my insurance policy?

2. If yes, is it covered under Medical Services or Psychological Services?

3. For which diagnosis is it covered?

4. Under which code(s) is it covered?

5. Do I need a prescription or letter from my medical doctor to say that it is medically necessary?

6. Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?

7. Will I need preauthorization? If so, what is the preauthorization code?

8. How many sessions are allowed (per week or per year) and is there a dollar amount limit?

9. Is there a deductible? If so, what is it and how much of the deductible has been met?

10. Is there a co pay? If so, what is it?

11. Is there a limit to the total amount the insurance company will reimburse each year? Is there an annual benefits cap that could affect the amount of my reimbursement?

What are the insurance CPT codes?

When contacting your insurance provider, make sure you understand what your insurance policy will cover, and for which diagnoses. You can ask your insurance carrier for coverage of certain CPT (Current Procedure Terminology) codes.

QEEG (BRAIN MAP): 95816, 95957, and 96132

95816 refers to the qEEG recording, 95957 refers to the digital analysis of the recording (eliminating artifact and comparing to the database), and 96132 refers to the evaluation of the recording and accompanying report by the provider.

90901 is used for psychological disorders, such as: Anxiety, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Attention Deficit Disorder.

What if my insurance will reimburse me?

If you are told that neurofeedback is covered, be certain to document the name of the insurance representative with whom you spoke and the date and time of your conversation. Make sure you understand what your insurance policy will cover, and for which diagnoses. If your insurance is going to reimburse you, contact us for a superbill to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.

Regardless of insurance reimbursement, payment is due at the time of service.

What is a QEEG Brain Mapping?

A Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) is a state-of-the-art brain mapping tool that provides valuable insights into your brain’s functioning. It’s a non-invasive, painless, and highly informative assessment. Our assessment includes expert analysis by a certified neurofeedback specialist, a tailored neurofeedback training plan, and your 1st neurofeedback brain training session.

How many sessions will I need?

Since everyone’s brains function differently, it depends on the qEEG and how quickly your brain responds to neurofeedback. We typically recommend a minimum of 20 sessions, but often clients have long-lasting changes after 40 sessions.

How many times a week do I come in?

Neurofeedback requires consistent commitment, ideally involving sessions 2-3 times per week. Our recommended frequency serves the purpose of training and reinforcing new neural pathways. This approach aims to solidify these pathways, allowing positive connections to strengthen and negative neural associations to be broken.

How long are the sessions typically?

A session lasts between a half-hour and an hour. We can start neurofeedback sessions at 20 minutes and then work up to 40 minutes.

Is it going to hurt, will I feel anything?

There is no pain involved in neurofeedback. The sensors are non-stimulating and only read your brainwave activity.

How will I know if it's working?

The speed at which clients experience results can vary. While some may notice improvements in as few as 4 sessions, others might require 14 sessions or more before observing changes. For instance, a mother seeking neurofeedback for her child may perceive changes before the child feels any difference. Similarly, family members frequently report observing positive changes in their loved ones before clients notice these differences.

What is the minimum age requirement?

We typically like children to be at least four years old. However, if you have a child younger than this, please call, and we can discuss if neurofeedback is a good fit.

Are there research studies?

There are government-funded websites that will show research on neurofeedback brain training. Here is a very beneficial one. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

How long do the effects last?

Research consistently indicates that clients maintain their improvements from neurofeedback training for a long time, even up to 20 years. Several research studies have demonstrated that additional gains are even made after treatment is finished.
