QEEG Brain Mapping Assessment
Are you ready to take control of your brain’s performance and unleash your true potential?
What’s a QEEG?
A Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) is a state-of-the-art brain mapping tool that provides valuable insights into your brain’s functioning. It’s a non-invasive, painless, and highly informative assessment that can guide your journey to optimal mental well-being.

Let us Walk You Through The Steps to Better Health!
We believe in using science vs. guesswork to detect the root cause of your health imbalance so we can provide you with the correction you want and need to reclaim your health and life!
Science
We perform a comprehensive qEEG brain map. This process allows us to read the frequency of areas across the brain. Much like a weather map that shows high and low temperatures, this map will show brain frequency and which areas may be over or under signaling that may be contributing to symptoms within the body.
Care
Based on your unique brain map results, we will let you know what we have found and if we can help. If a brain frequency imbalance is detected, we will advise what specific neurofeedback protocols can help to improve your health.
Results
When the imbalance is detected and neurofeedback is performed, brainwave frequencies are optimized for improved function, health and well-being.

Neuroplasticity is your brain’s ability to create new neural pathways. Your brain is not hard-wired, it is not limited or fixed in its abilities to heal — you are in the driver’s seat! Neurofeedback allows us to create customized, non-invasive, drugless solutions to support improved health naturally. Schedule a consultation at one of our locations and find out how neurofeedback therapy can help you achieve life-changing results!
The QEEG Assessment
A comprehensive assessment is where neurofeedback therapy begins. The assessment allows us to determine whether your brainwave patterns are different from normal. Based on your brain map results, we then create a restorative plan of care. Each assessment provides us with neurofeedback training protocols. These protocols are designed to retrain the brainwave patterns towards normal. The result of rebalancing these brain waves restores health, healing, and functionality for lasting results.
Mapping the Brain
The qEEG-report is the assessment process that allows us to determine the brain wave patterns by gathering information about the electrical activity of specific locations of the brain. To do this, we place what looks like a swim cap with a number of sensors on your head to measure the brain wave activity of the various frequency bands. This is done with the client sitting quietly with his or her eyes closed for approximately 5 minutes and then with eyes open for an additional 5 minutes. Our equipment will then analyze this information and generate a series of images that will identify which areas of the brain may be too active or not active enough. This is called a Brain Map. The Brain Map provides an invaluable overview of what is going on in the brain and will be used in conjunction with information provided by the client to develop the training plan.
Why Does Neurofeedback Work?
Neurofeedback takes advantage of the brain’s ability to change itself through a process known as Neuroplasticity. It utilizes the same learning process that occurs whenever we acquire a new skill. The brain learns by forming connections between nerve cells and utilizing important pathways that connect different locations in the brain. The more frequently you utilize these pathways the better the brain becomes at performing the associated task. In psychology, this type of leaning is called “Operant Conditioning”. It is a type of learning in which responses come to be controlled by their consequences. Quite simply, Neurofeedback offers the perfect learning conditions, since it facilitates awareness of when the brain is producing healthier brainwave patterns, provides reinforcement for the positive change and multiple opportunities to provide practice during a training session.
How is Neurofeedback Done?
Sensors are placed on the head and ears to record the brainwave activity. High-tech equipment amplifies the electrical impulses and breaks them into the four key frequency bands. Using sophisticated computer software a customized protocol is developed to address the individual’s unique needs. During the session the Neurofeedback Clinician views the raw EEG signal as well as the chosen frequency bands. Exercises can be done with either eyes open or eyes closed. With eyes open the Client is watching a video or playing a game. The video fades in and out depending on whether or not the brain is increasing the desired.
Why are So Many Different People Helped by Neurofeedback?
Many disorders are caused by poorly functioning patterns in the brain. Now that extensive research has shown the brain can restructure itself and learn more adaptive patterns at any age, the likelihood of symptom improvement becomes much more understandable. Neurofeedback is actually changing imbalances and altering brain pathways, not targeting specific disorders. This amazing ability of the brain is particularly noticeable in cases of traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Stroke or other physical trauma to the brain. Regardless of whether certain areas of the brain are overactive or underactive, Neurofeedback can encourage the brain to self-regulate and ultimately produce more healthful brainwave patterns and change thinking and behavior patterns.

The Process
Before your qEEG, we will email a link, and it is crucial to fill out the Profile, History, Metabolic, and CEC (Cognitive emotion checklist). The information given will be used for your qEEG and report of findings. The CEC goes through the symptoms you are experiencing, and then we compare it to focal sites of the brain to show how many of your symptoms are in line with the qEEG.
For your first appointment, we will use a cap with 19 EEG sensors, and we will perform the qEEG. Depending on the age and how challenging it might be for a toddler or child to sit still, we have the capability of choosing to do a 12 channel qEEG brain map to lessen the time it takes to complete the qEEG. During this process, you sit still and try and be as calm as possible. We will need to get five recordings that are one minute long. We do this process first with your eyes open and then with your eyes closed. We recommend clients bring a hat or hair elastic to use after the qEEG is performed. Your qEEG is then uploaded to a database and compared to hundreds of thousands of qEEG, and the scan is compared to similarities from these scans and then sends us a report that we will go over in our next meeting.
In this next meeting, we begin to review the Report of Finding / Brain Map. The brain map will show different dysregulations throughout your brain. These are the definitions of what we review in this meeting.
Magnitude: How strong or weak brain waves are going to different locations of the brain.
Asymmetry: Brain wave patterns should be located in certain areas when they are dysregulated. It leads to many negative symptoms.
Dominant frequency: How fast and slow brain waves are processing.
Interconnectivity: How fast or slow the left and the right hemisphere is speaking and processing information.
The report of findings will recommend brain training protocols for areas of your brain that need to be regulated. The brain map also suggests supplements that will help with supporting your brain and body functions. There is a narrative at the back of the report that we strongly suggest reading. It goes into great detail about the dysregulations in your map and areas of executive functions you might be struggling with. The report of findings can be overwhelming, but we are always available to answer any further questions you might have after leaving the office. You will also receive a copy of the report of findings/Brain map report to take home and review.
We include a free neurofeedback session in your assessment because we believe everyone should experience the process before investing in a program. After we have gone over the report of findings, we program our neurofeedback machine for the protocol recommended for you. You then sit in a comfortable chair and pick a show or series from Netflix, Disney Plus, Youtube, or Amazon Prime. We then place 1-4 sensors on your head using a conductive paste. The paste is easily removed with rubbing alcohol. The amount of sensors that are placed on your head depends on what protocols are recommended.
The sensors only read brainwave frequencies and are not stimulating or causing any harm. The sensors send your current brainwave activity to the computer. If you are in the correct brainwave frequency that we are training, the screen will stay bright, and the volume will be loud. When you are not in the brainwave frequency we are training, the screen will dim, and the volume will be quiet. Research shows that our brains are wired to want a reward, so your subconscious does most of the work. Artifacts can also create the screen to stay dim. Artifacts are when the sensors pick up too much muscle tension, moving, clenching your jaw, or blinking too much can create these artifacts. If the sensors begin to loosen after placement, that can cause artifacts, but we quickly fix them so they won’t disturb your session.
We begin training for 20 minutes and work our way up to 40 minutes. Everyone’s brains are different and can handle other training times. The goal is to create positive neural pathways and eliminate the negative neural pathways that are causing the negative symptoms you have been experiencing. After each session, you might feel relaxed or sleepy. This reaction lets me know that it was a great session, and the neuroplasticity or positive neural pathway is beginning to strengthen. Everyone’s brains are different, and the amount of sessions depends on how dysregulated your brain can be. Through the process, we will switch locations and protocols to regulate other areas of the brain. After 20 sessions, we recommend remapping this will show areas that have improved and give other protocols to work on next. As with learning a new skill, neurofeedback requires time. We recommend a minimum of two sessions a week, but if you are available to come three times a week, you will see results faster. Since everyone’s brains are different and more complex, it can be challenging to say how many sessions are needed, but after a qEEG, we will better understand how many sessions you will need.
